Trump’s masked agents snatching people off the streets. Israel dropping bombs on Palestinian families. And Westpac. They all chose the same data-tech company: Palantir.Around the world, people are organising to push Palantir out. Here in Australia, Coles is dumping Palantir. It’s time we make Westpac do the same.

Dump Palantir is a community campaign by grassroots Palestine solidarity groups across the continent. Its digital campaigns and collected data are managed by AUS Free Palestine, a national coalition of Palestine solidarity groups.

We acknowledge that we live, work and organised on the stolen lands of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Peoples. We pay respect to elders past and present. Sovereignty was never ceded.

Add your organsation to a people-powered movement

The Dump Palantir Coalition brings together Palestine, BDS, anti-war, community organisations and small businesses to pressure Australian companies and institutions to end their relationships with Palantir. Our current target: WESTPAC → DUMP PALANTIREndorse the coalition statement below and add your organisation's logo to join. We'll send you campaign materials and ways your organisation can participate — from sharing the campaign to engaging your supporters and taking local action.Together, we can make doing business with Palantir a deal-breaker.

Coalition StatementWe, the undersigned organisations, call on Australian companies and institutions to end their relationships with Palantir.Palantir is not an ordinary technology company. The Palestinian-led BDS movement identifies Palantir as a company complicit in Israel's genocide, apartheid and illegal military occupation. Palantir provides military and AI technology to Israel and entered a strategic partnership with Israel's Ministry of Defense to support its assault on Gaza.Palantir's support continued after the International Court of Justice issued binding provisional measures under the Genocide Convention ordering Israel to prevent acts of genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. Palantir and its executives now face potential criminal liability for their role in facilitating international crimes.Palantir's technology is also used by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to track people for detention and deportation, while its surveillance technology has been deployed by police, governments and corporations around the world.Australian companies and institutions are choosing to give business, money and legitimacy to a company that profits from military violence, mass surveillance and the targeting of vulnerable communities. They do not have to do business with Palantir. They choose to.Our coalition has already demonstrated what organised public pressure can achieve. After sustained campaigning from GetUP and the wider Palestine movement, Coles announced it would not renew its relationship with Palantir. Now we continue. We stand with Palestinians resisting genocide and apartheid, migrants targeted by detention and deportation, workers entitled to dignity and privacy, and communities everywhere rejecting surveillance and repression. We call on Australian companies and institutions to end their relationships with Palantir and commit not to renew or enter into contracts with the company.DUMP PALANTIR.

Westpac and palantir

Palestine and Gaza

Palantir is part of Israel’s high-tech killing machine. While Palestinian families and entire neighbourhoods are being destroyed in Gaza, Palantir’s CEO Alex Karp has called himself “the most publicly supportive CEO of Israel”.

The Palestinian-led BDS movement is calling on institutions around the world to end contracts and partnerships with Palantir and divest from the company.

ICE and Deportation

Palantir builds data and surveillance systems used by ICE to identify and track people for detention and deportation. Its technology helps turn huge amounts of data into targets.

Westpac and Our Data

Westpac knows deeply sensitive information, where your money comes from, where you spend it, what you owe and when you’re struggling. It holds a contract with Palantir, but has not publicly disclosed what the contract covers, how long it runs, or whether Palantir can access customer data.

Whatever the purpose, it chose Palantir - a company built around collecting, connecting and analysing vast amounts of data.
What exactly can Palantir see? Westpac won't tell us. Not without us making them.
